UNFPA is the lead United Nations (UN) agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person's potential is fulfilled. Its intention is to expand the possibilities for women and young people to lead healthy and productive lives. For more than forty years, UNFPA in Turkey has support to promote mother and child health, to improve reproductive health and rights, to promote gender equality, to combat violence against women and enhance collection, use, and dissemination of development data. UNFPA is also supporting the humanitarian response efforts of Turkey on promoting reproductive health and combating Gender Based Violence (GBV) since 2011, because of the fact that Turkey is providing protection to the greatest number of refugees worldwide, hosting over 3 million today.

In this context, Ms. Gucumengil is responsible for Data Analysis, Data Collection and Reporting on refugees and migrants, vulnerable groups (refugees, LGBTI people, sex workers etc.), sexual and reproductive health, family planning, sexual and Gender Based Violence (GBV). She deals with the analysis of large datasets and reports UN regional offices and other UN Agencies (WHO, UNHCR, UNDP, UNICEF etc.). Ms. Gucumengil designs the surveys, provides training for interviewers and other related staff in the field, and leads the fieldwork.
